Seeing the wound

Monireh Baradaran’s essay argues that the damage of war extends beyond ruined buildings into social life, memory and relationships. In a survey of Iranian writing, she names Rabihavi as an Abadan-born writer who experienced war and reflected its destructive face in fiction. Nasim Khaksar, Mohammad Reza Safdari, Ahmad Mahmoud, Esmail Fasih and Shahriar Mandanipour also appear in that discussion. Source 1

Her argument asks antiwar literature to attend to suffering that official accounts obscure. The assessment is Baradaran’s, and this passage does not identify a particular Rabihavi book or supply a new first-person recollection by him. Source 1
