The name of a collection

Keyhan Khanjani’s November 2020 essay on Bijan Najdi briefly uses From This Place as an example of a title that encompasses a collection without naming one of its individual stories. This is a specific point about the relationship between a book’s title and the fiction it gathers. Source 1

Displacement within a wider tradition

In the published text of a June 2021 talk about Shahriar Mandanipour’s Scorpion Killing, Hossein Noushazar identifies From This Place with the lives of people displaced by war. He sets it beside other Iranian works attending to the effects of conflict on households, employees and intellectuals. The post date establishes this publication, without fixing the date of the talk. Forms of historical testimony

Hossein Imanian’s February 2022 essay, centred on Hossein Atashparvar, includes Rabihavi among writers carrying earlier literary resources into another generation. He emphasises that each develops an individual way of bearing historical witness. The passage does not make Rabihavi a member of a formally constituted group. Source 3

The circumstances of antiwar fiction

Rouzbeh Jourkesh’s June 2022 reading of Mansour Koushan’s Mohaq places Rabihavi’s stories alongside works by Ahmad Mahmoud, Esmail Fasih and some of Makhmalbaf’s writing. The brief comparison concerns the connections between narrative, political circumstances and antiwar literature. The detailed analysis of Mohaq remains an analysis of Koushan’s novel. Source 4

  1. Keyhan Khanjani · Bijan Najdi’s stories and collection titles

Baang essay, 20 November 2020. From This Place appears as a brief example in an argument about titles encompassing a collection rather than naming one constituent story. The separate Gisu advertisement is not part of that critical argument.

  2. Hossein Noushazar · agency and Mandanipour’s Scorpion Killing

Baang, 15 June 2021, presents the full text of Noushazar’s talk for the Jaleh Esfahani Foundation. Its survey identifies From This Place with the experiences of people displaced by war. The page date is not an independently established event date.

  3. Hossein Imanian · affirming the remnants

Baang essay, 8 February 2022, centred on Hossein Atashparvar. A substantive comparative passage names Rabihavi among writers who carried forward earlier literary resources while developing their own forms of historical testimony.

  4. Rouzbeh Jourkesh · Tehran’s bombardments in Mohaq

Baang critical essay, 13 June 2022, about Mansour Koushan’s Mohaq. A comparative passage places Rabihavi’s stories among antiwar works shaped by their political and literary circumstances.
