The short Persian novel passage was posted by Khalil Paknia.
Original English editorial orientation to the short archived Persian excerpt. It is separate from a published English literary translation.
The interruption of anger
The narrator imagines that in another state he would have raised his voice and demanded repeated apologies. The other person’s hands are applying cream to his face. Cold contact, a cotton pad and bearable pain gradually replace that imagined confrontation. Attention settles on the other person’s eyes, allowing bodily care to change the emotional direction of the moment. Source 1
A small passage from the novel
The 8 May 2010 post accompanies an announcement of an April 2010 BaghDarBagh electronic publication in Sweden. This is a bounded Persian fragment, marked by omissions. Its speaker and position within the complete novel are not assigned from this paragraph alone; later English, German, French and Persian editions have their own publication records. Source 1
