Words attributed to writers

The report connects the statement with interviews and representations of Ebrahim Golestan and Reza Baraheni that the signatories regarded as distortions. It also introduces the dispute over a Bahar interview with Baraheni, which his son described as misrepresented. These objections concern the authority to turn a writer’s voice into something serving another purpose. Source 1

The same statement supports Fatemeh Ekhtesari, Mehdi Mousavi and Mostafa Azizi in the face of imprisonment and corporal punishment. Its signatories emphasise solidarity across their own differences. Defence of a colleague is presented as a shared literary responsibility, rather than agreement on every political or artistic question. Source 1

Rabihavi’s place in the report

Radio Farda names Rabihavi among the fifty-three signatories. The report also introduces Hossein Ghavimi’s interview with Mehrangiz Kar about attacks on writers’ reputations. That embedded conversation is Kar’s contribution; it is not a separate interview with Rabihavi or evidence that he wrote the collective statement. Source 1
