The work

Original language: Persian

A novel concerned with difficult father–son relationships. In his 2023 interview, Rabihavi resists a single reassuring pattern for those relationships and discusses characters whose conduct leaves questions open. Harvard and DNB identify a Persian 2022 Bonn edition; its German parallel title is part of that record.

Reading the editions

Daniel · the writer’s conversation

An unsettled day.

The 2023 Zamaneh interview introduces Sia across a day, from a nightmare in the morning to a cigarette on the balcony at night. Discussing Daniel and His Father, Rabihavi considers the character’s fear of bringing a child into a violent world and the questions fiction leaves with its reader.

The interview supplies a way into the novel. The named 2022 Persian edition keeps its own bibliographic record; its German parallel title is a catalogue field, rather than a translation credit.
