Selection evidence from printed contemporary category lists. The French translation, category and round remain specific.
The category and the round
Les garçons de l’amour appears in the first 2020 Prix Médicis selection for foreign novels, announced on 11 September. Livres Hebdo lists thirteen titles in that category and names Ghazi Rabihavi, translator Christophe Balaÿ and publisher Serge Safran beside the novel. This is the French edition’s selection record. The separate French-novel list contains fifteen titles. Le Nouvel Obs’s contemporary report reproduces the foreign list with the same book and translation credit. Inclusion in this first selection records a stage in the prize process; it does not establish a prize victory. Source 1 · Source 2
