The category and the round

The 2 October second Prix Médicis selection retains Les garçons de l’amour among seven foreign novels. Livres Hebdo prints that category separately from the French-novel selection and the first essay list. It again identifies Christophe Balaÿ’s translation and the Serge Safran edition. Source 1

Antoine Oury’s 5 October ActuaLitté report reproduces the seven-title foreign selection. The two reports distinguish the selection announcement from later news coverage. This record establishes the second round in the foreign-novel category; it supplies no claim that Rabihavi won the prize or reached a further round. Source 1 · Source 2

The Centre national du livre’s seasonal reading page also places Les Garçons de l’amour under the second Médicis selection, naming Rabihavi, Christophe Balaÿ and Serge Safran. Its retained body includes later prize results despite an initial 17 September 2020 publication label. The contemporary October announcements therefore supply the round’s date; this evolving institutional page provides corroboration rather than a competing decision date. Source 3
